Dr. Steve Benzon
Dr. Benzon was born and raised in Cambridge, a small community in western Illinois. At age twelve, he started working at the local veterinary clinic in his hometown and continued to work there through his college years. He spent four years at Western Illinois University and majored in biology as a pre-veterinary student. He then earned his degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois.
After graduation, Dr. Benzon spent the next 12 years practicing in Geneseo, Ill. there, he treated companion animals and farm animals as well. He then spent 7 years in Chicago and focused his practice on companion animals. In 1994, he purchased Delavan Animal Clinic and currently continues to practice here.
He has been married to his wife, Sue for 30 years. Sue is a pastor and serves as the hospice chaplain for Aurora Visiting Nurses Association. Together they have 5 sons and a daughter.
